How to Make a basic tomato and basil marinara sauce

The family will love this pasta recipe. Easy to prepare. Ingredients you will need: 1 onion 2 cloves of garlic Olive oil Basil (5 or 6 leaves) Canned crushed tomatoes Salt Pepper Pasta Dice your onion. Chop your two cloves of garlic. In a pan or a deep skillet add 2 to 3 tablespoons of olive oil. Put on the stove on high and heat. Add the onion, garlic and salt. Cook until the onions are soft. This will take approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Do not burn the garlic and onions, as they will taste bitter. While the onions are cooking, fill a very large pan with water to cook the pasta. Always use lots of water when cooking pasta. Let the water come to a boil but add salt to the water right before it comes to a boil. Be sure you add enough salt as this is the only time you will have to salt the pasta. Add pasta and cook. Stir your onions and when they are translucent and soft add the crushed tomatoes and a little water. Add the basil, salt and pepper. Stir and cook with the lid on for about 15 minutes. Pasta should be done, pour it into a strainer. Make certain all of the water is off of the pasta otherwise the sauce will not stick to the pasta. Put several scoops of sauce in the pasta. Put pasta on a dish; add a scoop of sauce on top, a couple of basil leaves for garnish and Parmesan cheese.
